La ciudad es un verdadero museo de puentes. Hay más de 40 islas, más de 60 ríos y canales y 342 puentes sobre ellos, que dan al carácter de la ciudad los rasgos románticos. 22 grandes puentes que cruzan el río Neva son levadizos, o sea, se levantan de noche para dejar pasar a los grandes barcos mercantes. Estos puentes levantados son uno de los símbolos de San Petersburgo y en verano este espectáculo nocturno atrae miles de personas, especialmente durante la temporada de las famosas "Noches Blancas". En invierno los puentes no se levantan porque todos los ríos y canales están congelados y no hay navegación. Los ríos y canales de San Petersburgo más pequeños tienen muchos puentes decorativos y curiosos, con sus mitos y leyendas. Algunos de los puentes son extraordinariamente hermosos, decorados con estatuas, detalles artísticos y dorados y elegantes faroles. Hay uno de ellos que se llama puente de los besos, no se si este pero por la foto podría serlo.

The city is a true bridges museum. There are more than 40 islands, more than 60 rivers and 342 bridges over them, this is a romantic scene for the city identity. 22 big bridges that cross the Neva river are drawbridges, it means they lift up over the night to leave pass the big merchants ships. These lifted bridges are one of the symbols of St. Petersburg and on summer this night show attract thousands of people, especially along the famous season “White Nights”. On Winter the bridges don’t lift up because all the rivers are frozen and there isn’t navigation. The little rivers of St. Petersburg has many decorative and curious bridges with their myths and legends. Some of them are so beautiful, with statues, artistic details, golden paints and elegnat lights. There is one with the name bridge of kisses, I don’t know but this in the picture could be.
